We can make dreads up to six feet long total which would be 3 foot double ended dreads and 6 foot single ended dreads. There is an extra cost for dreads at this length. You can reach us by email at info@memykidandlife.com.

Question: How do I fix frizzy dreads? Can I seal them?

Question: I have a pair of synthetic dreadfalls that are mixed like candycane and straight, they are slightly going frizzy and loose. Do you think a balm would work or something to seal them more?

Answer:

It sounds like they were loose to start with which means they will probably fall apart over time.

It's important that dreads are made properly in the first place if you want them to last!
That being said, you can seal them in boiling water. Twist the dread (do one at a time) before putting it in water. Then slowly put one end in and twist slightly as you allow the dread to seal and as you also glide the dread across the water still slowly twisting and sealing the rest of the dread.

This will help to preserve the dread as well as take away some of those frizzies.
Since synthetic dreads aren't real hair I don't see how putting products in them will help or extend the life of the dread. I'd be more concerned it could take the dread to a place of no return and/or prevent the dreads from being sealed properly with heat as the balm could coat the dread.

Also, if it makes the dreads harder to wash, they could get gross quite quickly. It's better to keep them clean, looking and smelling great!
