Sealing Dreadlocks

Sealing DreadlocksHiya,
Hi!

I just have a quick question about sealing dreads....
Sounds good. What's up?

I can do the boiling water method but the ends are always whispy.
Just out of curiosity, are you boiling the ends - or not, because it burns the finger tips?

If you're not boiling the ends, then the dreadlock is not sealed completely which would make the ends whispy and not as long-lasting or durable.

Is there anything i can do to make them look sleek and tapered?

It sounds like the situation is more that you're looking for a cleaner, tighter, perhaps less wild, carefree and bohemian look. If this is the case you could trim the ends at a slight angle to get rid of any the whispies. The cut shouldn't really be detectable by sight and since the dread is already sealed it should still hold up fine. :-)

Thank you
.

Terri

You're welcome!

Christine
